Flagpole Sales in the Midwest
Jerry's blunt view, and he has earned it: a lot of the people selling flagpoles do not understand what they are selling. A pole gets listed as 25 feet with a price next to it, and nothing about butt diameter, wall thickness or wind rating is mentioned anywhere. Then the customer flies an oversized flag on it and wonders why the shaft bent.
We sell one-piece and telescoping poles, all American made, and we spec them against what you are actually going to fly and where the pole is going to stand. That conversation takes about five minutes and it is the difference between a pole that lasts decades and one that becomes a repair call.

Questions about flagpole sales
Usually because of wall thickness and butt diameter, which is exactly where a cheap pole saves money. You cannot see either one in a listing photo. Our poles are American made and spec'd to a wind rating we will tell you before you buy.
Flag length runs about one quarter to one third of the pole height. A 20 foot pole takes a 3 by 5 or a 4 by 6, and a 25 foot pole takes a 4 by 6 or a 5 by 8. Flying oversized is the fastest way to void the shaft warranty and shred a flag.
If the pole is going up permanently, one-piece. If you want to lower it easily by hand, whether for weather, maintenance or seasonal storage, telescoping. The warranties differ because the failure points differ, so it is worth deciding on purpose.
