Solar, no wiring
Solar Flagpole Lighting
If the flag stays up after dark, it should be lit. A solar light does that without trenching a power line to the pole. It charges during the day and turns itself on at dusk.
We sell and install solar flagpole lights on new and existing poles. We can add one when we install a pole, or fit one to the pole you already have from our bucket truck. The lights we use are the same ones sold in our online store.
How we fit a solar light
Match the light to the pole
We look at the top of your pole and how much light you want, then pick between a top mount light and a disc light.
Fit it to the pole
From the bucket truck we mount the light where it clears the flag, the rope and the finial, and still lights the flag.
Check it charges
The panel has to see the sun. We make sure nothing shades it during the day.
Tell you what it takes
We tell you which replacement batteries the light uses, so keeping it running is simple.
The lights we sell
| Light | What it is |
|---|---|
| Top Mount Solar Light | A commercial grade LED light that mounts at the top of the pole. Rated 800 to 1,000 lumens. $199 in our store. |
| Bottom Mount Disc Solar Light | A disc style solar light. $199 in our store. |
| Replacement batteries | Battery packs for the lights we sell, so a fading light can be brought back without replacing it. |
Why bring this job to us
No wiring
Solar means no trench across the lawn and no electrician for the pole.
Installed at height
We put the light on from our own bucket truck, on the same visit as an install or a maintenance check.
Parts we stock
We sell the replacement batteries too, so the light keeps working.
Questions about flagpole lighting
The U.S. Flag Code says a flag flown around the clock should be lit during the hours of darkness. If you take the flag down at sunset, you do not need a light.
Yes, but shorter days mean less charge, so a light can run shorter or dimmer in December than in June. Keeping the panel clear of snow and shade helps, and fresh batteries make a big difference on an older light.
Yes. We install solar lights on poles we did not put in. Send us a photo of the top of the pole so we can see what fitting it has.
Not at this time. We work with solar lights, which need no power run to the pole.
Rechargeable batteries wear out over time like any other. When the light starts running short at night, replacing the batteries usually brings it back. We sell replacement packs for the lights we carry.
